Volunteering Opportunities
We can use you!

Could you spare any of your time and talents to help on one of our projects?
All sorts of jobs need doing, both on the spot and behind the scenes.
Your help would be much appreciated.

 The main activity of the Centre is currently focused on the Seed Sowers Training Project, which has three aspects:-
1. Structured training programmes for adults with a mild to moderate learning disability - currently on Tuesdays.
2. A more informal working environment for adults of mixed abilities but with special needs such as depression/anxiety, on Thursdays - throughout the year.
3. As a background to the above, the development of a “social enterprise” based on producing and selling preserves, crafts & plants.

On these days, volunteers can help with such things as:
· Working alongside individuals or small client groups to help them achieve their potential.
· Preparation of craft and other materials.
· Cooking (preserves), gardening, potting up plants.
· Maintenance: decorating, DIY, operating machines (e.g. lawnmower, chipper), mending punctures
· Preparing display and publicity material.
· Computers, office work

Sales:
· Help setting up and/or manning our small shop at The Centre.

We are always looking for new outlets to sell our products and often have stalls on local markets and fairs, etc. These are held at various times, often Saturdays.

· Help needed in manning stalls.
· New ideas for sales.

 Volunteers will always be supported by regular staff members. We think we are a friendly and fun group to work with!
We would expect you to be in sympathy with the aims of the Centre, which is an interdenominational Christian charity.
All travel and other approved expenses will be reimbursed.
Please note that we are required to do CRB checks on most of our volunteers.
